Folk dance ensemble Ave Vita’s 65th anniversary


You cannot imagine Lithuanian University of Health Sciences without its art collectives. On April 27, Ave Vita, folk dance ensemble with deep traditions, commemorated its 65th anniversary. The concert was held in Kaunas culture center Tautos namai. LUHS folk dance ensemble Ave Vita is 65 years old. The youthful, energetic and creative collective of around 100 admirers of folk art held an anniversary concert.The ensemble also invited its friends from Latvia ensembles Gatvė (Street) and Ainiai (Scions).
Ave Vita ensemble regularly attends song events in Kaunas and the whole Lithuania, also such events as Gaudeamus in the Baltics, has won contests such as Kadagys, Iš aplinkui and Klumpakojis. The ensemble has traveled to festivals in Switzerland, Portugal, Spain, Denmark, the Netherlands, France and Croatia, and has earned high praise for their performances.
23 years ago ensemble’s art director Kazimieras Kondratavičius created dance groups for middle-aged people and children. The children have grown up and finished their studies, whereas the seniors are dancing to this day.
